If you are gay and play gay bingo, isn’t it just bingo?

Honestly, one of the best ways to spend $20 and 4 hours.  December 19th is the next one and we are going bigger.  Last night was a chance to stake out the situation and vizualize the potential of the spectacle. Amy, Abby, Annie and I (where is my “A” name when I need it?”) did just that.  We realized that the way to do it is to treat gay bingo like a destination – a destination that requires adequate planing and copious amounts of supplies.  What were we thinking – we could just show up and play bingo?  No ma’am.  Next time we are bringing the following:

1. food.  lots of it.  some tables had hoagie spreads.  some pizza.  some cookies.  some chips and dips.  some tables had all of the above and other food stuffs that i couldn’t see clearly because i forgot my glasses.  we see a holiday spread in our future complete with a christmas table cloth, a pot roast, mashed sweet potatoes and cranberry relish.

2. costumes.  sure it’s mainly just the drag queen hosts that dress up, but why should they have all the fun?

3. more people.  amy and i are convinced we need a table all to ourselves which means we need about 20 people in our village.  commit now.  honestly, it will probably beat your wedding day as the best night of your life.

The AIDS Fund picks a theme each month.  Last night was the Cher’s Farewell Tour.  December is Naughty or Nice.  We have decided we need a theme inside a theme inside a theme (it’s kind of like a turducken).  Voting is now open for possible themes for the December gala:

1. Ugly sweater. Find your grandma’s worst knitted swaeter complete with glittery candy canes, galloping reindeer and Santa’s round booty.

2. The last supper. Robes…the Bible…Jesus…the perfect Saturday night.

3. Drag King. It’s not just for the Queens anymore!

because we all have this outfit

4. Christmas candy stripers. Lots of red, white and sexy all over.

Okay, you’ve sold me on gay bingo. Unfortunately, I will not be in town December 19th. Maybe January?

PS. I vote The Last Supper.. especially if you have enough people to sit at a long table.

I am so desperately bummed that it was snowed out.
    I MUST see the sweater.
    I must.
